The role of the elastase of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in experimental infection.

چکیده
A characteristic vascular lesion has been described in human systemic infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Forkner et al., 1958; Margaretten et al., 1961: Rabin et al., 1961). In an attempt to elucidate its pathogenesis, experimental animals were infected with P. aeruginosa to reproduce this vascular lesion. It was found that destruction of the arterial elastic lamina was frequently associated with the lesion, suggesting a probable role of the elastase of P. aeruginosa in the pathogenesis. Some of our studies on the elastase of P. aeruginosa are reported here.

Background and Objective: According to definition of probiotics by WHO/FAO that is “Live microorganisms which, when present in sufficient amount, confer beneficial effects to the host”. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the first non-pathogenic yeast which is known as a probiotic for humans that its helpful effects for humankind has been proved. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Silver Nanoparticles on Wounds Contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Mice: An Experimental Study
The microorganisms have been usual noted as the major cause of delayed wound healing. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most common pathogen causing these infections. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) show ample antibacterial activities. In present study, the effect of AgNPs alone and in combination with tetracycline investigated on inoculated wounds with Pseudomonas aeruginosa in mice. Twenty mice anes...
متن کاملAntibacterial Effect of Allicin, Silver Nano Particles, and Their Combination against Skin Infection due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Animal Model
Background & Objective: Common antibiotics may be useless against multiple pathogens because of the multidrug resistance. Therefore, new ways of nanotechnology and effective herbal combination can be the solution for this problem. The objective of this study is to investigate the antimicrobial effect of Allicin, silver nano particles and their combination against skin infection due to Pseud...

Background and Objective: Pseudomonas aeroginosa is the most common pathogen associated with nosocomial infections and possesses virulence factors which contribute to the bacterial invasion and toxicity such as alginate, exoenzyme S, exotoxin A and elastase. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of algD, exoS, toxA and lasB genes in Pseudomonas aeruginosa samples isolated from p...
